She floated down the hill, our "go with the flow", hippie-chic, style-conscience bride. In her blue toms & her friend trailing behind her holding the train of her beautiful bridal gown.
She was a sight to see ! The weather was cooperating with us today as we had moved this very bridal session at least once a week, trying to run from rain showers. We also hadn't quite found the perfect location for her.
Jennifer ( Bride) and I, had brainstormed several locations , 7 different ones to be exact before coming to the final decision of Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, in Plano for her natural bridal session.
It's a special location to her, because her and future hubby go walking at Arbor Hills Trails with their fur babies very often.
With it's combination of earthy lush hills, winding trails, sprawling trees & a few blooming flowers here and there. We figured we couldn't go wrong with this location, we hope to visit there again when the waterfalls & streams are at full capacity, another natural feature of this park.
We started our bridal session at the look-out tower, this gave us some variety from the natural greenery that Arbor hills nature preserve provides. We continued Jennifer's bridal session on a winding path where we found some blooming purple flowers and took the opportunity to capture the glowing natural beauty of our fantastic bride!
Our bride Jennifer, has often mentioned to us that at home she is carefree and barefooted! We definitely took that into account and wanted to see her personality shine in her one of a kind bridal session. She kicked off her shoes and just walked into the setting sun with her bridal gown gathered in her arms, playfully looking back at us with each click. It was easy to get our bride Jen to smile, with just a whisper of her fiancé's name it was all smiles!
We couldn't conclude this bridal session without, letting the orange twilight gently kiss the trees ! As, the sun set, we let our beautiful bride Jen reflect on her upcoming wedding day, as we captured her in a very relaxed state. This bride and her fiancé was also featured a few weeks earlier in their engagement session that we shot at the Fort Wort Stockyards, check out that blog to show you how IGOR wedding photography creates fine art for all of your wedding moments from start to ending .

It was another day in our Photography studio located in North Fort Worth, Texas and we were itching to do a bridal shoot! At IGOR Photography we are always trying to do something different whether it is at a wedding, portrait session or an event, just a little out of the box with creativity and our own personal style and editing .
It was while scrolling through social media, when my fiancé and I saw this lights festival coming to the Dallas area. Initially we were going to buy tickets for ourselves, it would make for an interesting date night right? Why not make a date night especially tailored for us, a styled bridal shoot it is!
We headed to our favorite bridal boutique located in Burleson, and found the wedding gown and veil that would complete this mini bridal shoot. Featured below: Enza by Maggie Sottero designs. A wedding dress with layered tulle-train and an embezzled belt to accent the waist. To that we added a beautiful cathedral length wedding veil with crystal edge. What a stunning combination!
Now, let's light the Sky! Our bride Sheridan, was a lovely sight to see. The lanterns weren't the only thing to light the sky that night as many people congratulated her with lighted torches and complimented her beauty, we played with perspective & depth of the many lanterns being set a sail to drift in the night air. It was an amazing fairy tale sight, a beautiful experience!
Technically and logistically this light festival bridal shoot was pretty demanding. We had to carefully set up the right flash lighting to light her up at night without overpowering the glowing light from the lanterns, that was important because we didn't want to kill that beautiful and magically lighted mood. Another even harder challenge was to time the exposures while avoiding capturing to many people walking around the bride. Like photographing a wedding, we had to get it right the first time, we really didn't have time to do any retakes, but with careful planning and execution we got exactly the shot that we had envision, and we had so much fun doing it!
This fine art bridal shoot for IGOR wedding photography, was a great way to capture the essence of what we love to do in a structured setting and on your wedding day, there are endless possibilities.
IGOR Photography loves weddings! But that is not all we specialize in, along with our wedding photography, we like to shoot high fashion, commercial photography as well as personal lifestyle portrait sessions and fine art generational portraits like the photo featured below! We loved working with the Morrison family.
Young Sara, came to us and asked if for her mother’s birthday she could have a candid lifestyle shoot including her mother and grandmother endearingly nicknamed “Maui” (she was a spunky grandma!). She wanted the shoot to include pastime hobbies that were representative of them! Since mom, Sara, and Maui enjoy making cupcakes they decided to bake some while we were shooting (That was incredibly difficult to shoot and smell the aroma of delicious chocolate cupcakes).
We also took time during this shoot to take some relaxed and natural pictures of the trio !
This session was so much fun and can’t wait to capture them with the whole family during the holidays!

Today on December 13th, it's Sankta Lucia (Saint Lucy) day, and to honor this beautiful Swedish tradition, I created my version of the Swedish Sankta Lucia.
For many, many years Lucia has brought faith, hope, and a reason to believe in good things to come during the darkest time of the year.
Her legend stems from Syracuse on the island of Sicily. It is thought that during a time when the rulers of the land did not look favorably upon Christianity, a woman named Lucia had devoted her life to God and the poor. She gave her entire dowry to the poor, and the man she was to marry was very upset by this. Lucia was put on trial, refused to renounce her Christian beliefs and was declared a witch. She was to be burned at the stake but when the guards tried to light the fire it would not light. Ultimately, she was stabbed, became a saint and legend.
Several countries in Europe celebrate Saint Lucy day. I grow up with this holiday tradition in Sweden and it's very close to my heart. I hope you like my Sankta Lucia tribute!
